I bough some new cloth from seyberts and was all set to use 3m super 77 to adhere it to my slate i do not have a backer board when i called seyberts mechanic and he recommended high strength 90. Posted by 4 years ago.

3m 90 vs 77. I wouldnt use it for my headliner but for the doors im thinking itd be sufficient right. 3m 90 holds to 160 degrees 3. Used the 77 in anther veh. Loctite max strength headliner adhesive holds to 125 degrees these figures are from the manufactures data sheets sem also makes a strong spray adhesive but ive yet to find it. The 90 seems to hold up the best in the high heat areas. One is 3m supper 77 which i think everyone uses and the other is 3m high strength 90. I cant spray both surfaces cause i have to roll up the individual thick whispermat 2 pieces to fit inside the small driver holes. Does one stick better then the other and will i have better luck with one over the other when it comes to tweed. Naturally what you spray it on makes a difference too. And within a year it started to sag in areas and had to be redone. What are the diffrence between these two if any. Im getting conflicting info about 3m 77 anf 90 adhesives. I just used what ever 3m was for sale at joaann fabrics use the 90 difference is one is alot stronger than the other the 77 wiil sag away after awhile heatweight and gravity. 3m 77 holds to 100 degrees 2.
All i can find in stores is 3m 77. Like is it painted old glue metal fiber. I have had good luck using 3m hi strength 90 spray adhesive. With mostly poor results. Is there a great difference or will 77 do the trick. Which is stronger and does not require spraying both surfaces for optimal holding.
3m aerosol cylinder and bulk adhesives are extremely versatile with multipurpose heavy duty and foam and fabric varieties that can be. So im covering the fabric on my doors and after researching it looks like everyone uses 3m 90 spray adhesive. I went through the whole list of other adhesives like other brands 3m 77 water based brushed on etc. I personally use the loctite and never had a problem.
